survive

A sigh of relief escaped him as she finally lowered her weapon. It was understandable enough that she didn’t want to put the bow and arrow away, mind you. It wasn’t exactly calming that she was still the one with a drawn weapon out of the two but the fact that it wasn’t directly pointed at him anymore was.. a start.

”..not touching the holster, got it..,“ he replied, slowly lowering his hands.

And even if I did, you wouldn’t take me down.

He’d survived huge-ass Covenants with fucking plasma swords (and yes, those were the worst. Ever.)  so an arrow was hardly a concern for him. The fact that he’d go against a civilian, though, that didn’t suit him. At all. Or at least not as long as there was some way around it.

"I uh.. I crashed.. about fifteen minutes ago, I think. I have no idea where I am..” Steven shrugged lightly, scratching the back of his neck. In hindsight, taking the assault rifle would’ve at least been an advantage by seeming heavier armed then he actually was… anyway. He still had his pistol, worst comes to worse.

Ellie nodded once when he agreed to not touch the holster. At least he wasn’t being too difficult now, and perhaps he’d run along sooner or later so she could get back to bringing home some food for those who needed it.

“You crashed ya’ car, huh?” She assumed, guessing that was a reasonable explanation as to why he was out here looking lost. Cars had always been faulty, especially seeing it was hard to get hold of vital parts needed for them to work. Ellie didn’t really know much about the mechanics of a car, but she knew when one still had some juice in it.

“Well ya’ surrounded by trees, so I think you’ll find ya’ in a forest.” She told him, a slight sarcastic tone to her voice. “There’s a small suburban area few miles East.” Ellie nodded in the direction behind him, the opposite way from power plant. There was no suburban area, but if she could get him to go the other way, then hopefully the infected would get to him before he’d realize where he was going.

“Suggest ya’ go take cover ‘fore it gets dark. You can say adiós to any form of safety if the Clickers get to ya’ first.”

A half smile tugged at her lips as the male thanked her once more. Alright, maybe this wasn’t as bad as she thought....

He might not have been completely ‘through’ with this whole thing, but he did feel somewhat relieved that she’d try to...
