…obviously she was just as unfamiliar with the terms he flung about as he was with the ones she’d thrown at him. But, seriously, everybody knew what ODST were, even children could tell you the exact term right away. Then again, most children had been put in military schools anyway. “…don’t tell me you don’t know what ODST are..” He raised an eyebrow, then frowned. “What planet have I ended up on?“

As thankful as he might have been for the directions she gave him, he was fairly sure he wouldn’t find a comm tower there. Maybe she didn’t even know if he’d find anything useful if he went eastwards and just wanted to get him off her back? Likely enough, he was probably just some messy-looking weirdo for her.

"Mh.” The blonde merely nodded lightly, arms folding before his chest. It took him a while, but he eventually figured why she’d been out here in the first place. “..oh, you’re hunting?” The corners of his mouth twitched up and into a smirk at that. It sounded pretty old-fashioned to him but damn exciting.

After a good moment of thinking, and staring down at his boots, he looked up again and gave a shake of his head. “I ain’t going anywhere without a map. Sorry if I ruined your little hunting trip but I don’t know anything about the animals here or if there might be Covenant or whatever else there could be. I don’t have my armour, I’m not just going to wander off in some random direction.“

"Nope. No freakin’ clue.” Ellie replied bluntly. The ‘logical’ terms he was throwing in her direction could not have been too important, though. Joel had never informed her as to what these meant, neither had Maria or Tommy; hell, she’d never heard anyone back home speak those words. This guy must have hit his head pretty hard when he crashed.

“Yer on Earth; or, as I’ve been taught, what’s left of it.” Ellie raised a single brow in his direction, wondering if that would ring any bells for him. Ellie had never seen what the world was like before all of this; she’d only seen worn pictures and read old, dusty books from those times. To her, the world before seemed completely bizzare. All people had to worry about was what they were going to wear, or what they were going to eat that day. She still couldn’t get her head around it, no matter how many times Joel explained it to her.

When the male guessed she’d been hunting, Ellie noticed the small smirk appear on his face. What the hell was he smirking at? Hunting was nothing out of the ordinary for her; it was how people got most of their food.

“Was.” She emphasized, giving him a small, sarcastic smile. “Not that it’s any of ya’ damn business, anyway.” Ellie was in no way going to allow the man to know about why she was finding food, or who for, even. It was far too risky to let him, anyone even, to know about the power plant.

When the male told her he wasn’t going anywhere without a map, the grip on her bow and arrow tightened. 'Fuck, shoot him, Ellie.' She thought to herself, knowing that it could be the easiest way out of this if things went according to plan. When he mentioned armour, though, the woman hesitated, brows knotting together. Armour? Geez, the characters in her Savage Starlight comics wore armour. Ellie remembered all those years ago when Joel helped her find those comics. Back then those were the bomb, and she still had them somewhere.

“Dude, I ain’t gotta’ map. What d'ya want me t'do, hold ya’ hand there?” The woman started, inhaling a deep breath. “As long as yer armed ya’ gonna’ be fine, an’ by the looks of things you’re ok in that department.” Ellie finished, nodding once in the direction of his holsters.

A half smile tugged at her lips as the male thanked her once more. Alright, maybe this wasn’t as bad as she thought....

He might not have been completely ‘through’ with this whole thing, but he did feel somewhat relieved that she’d try to...
