He was stumbling a little as he walked, slowly figuring just where he’d taken a few bruises and whatnot during his crash. Nothing was broken or sprained, he could tell as much, though he was certain that his disformed armour probably caused a few cuts. He also guessed that he looked kind of weird, running around in a grey t-shirt and some loose, black trousers with thick sock-like clothing at his feet, his clothes ripped open at various spots but not too direly damaged.

Steven followed her, remaining just a little behind but mostly next to her as well as he could manage. He gave a small smirk as she stated her name. “Ellie… nice name. I like it.“ His gaze shifted around a little, observing his surroundings and he smirked quietly at the view of it. Damn, it had been a while since he’d last been on a shore leave, he usually didn’t get the time to enjoy a view like that on a drop. “Steven. I’m Steven,” he eventually replied.

As they walked, his hand slid to his knives, pulling one out and playing with it a little to distract himself. A nervous habit, but it was useful out on the field. At least he’d have something to throw if they ran across any enemies or something. “…So…,” he began, keeping his voice rather low. “You’re good with a bow and arrow, hm?“

The way the man looked was almost normal for Ellie. A lot of people were covered in bruises; wearing clothes that didn’t fit or had not been washed in weeks. Injuries, however, were taken seriously. The cuts he was sporting could get infected if he wasn’t careful; and if he got infected, well, there was only one thing they could do. She knew she’d have to warn him about those later, if he wasn’t aware of the consequences already.

"Steven…” She murmured under her breath when he told her his name. At least that was simple and easy to remember; not like she would need to know it for long, anyway.

“Pfffft,” Ellie responded, glancing over at the knife in his hands for a moment. “Me an’ this bad boy have been through lots. Hope you can say the same f'that knife.” Ellie smirked lightly, green eyes traveling to the surroundings again.

Ellie continued to walk, keeping her footsteps light as she made her way over the uneven terrain. It wasn’t long before she spotted small indents in the soft ground… tracks. Looking up at Steven, Ellie put her finger to her lips, signaling for him to be as silent as possible. Preparing one of her arrows, Ellie kept it drawn as she quietly followed the footprints in the ground.

A half smile tugged at her lips as the male thanked her once more. Alright, maybe this wasn’t as bad as she thought....

He might not have been completely ‘through’ with this whole thing, but he did feel somewhat relieved that she’d try to...
