He was fairly sure she would’ve made a fairly decent Marine, at the very least. As far as he could tell, she just wanted to hunt something down, and she was eager enough to get it done soon. Even if she didn’t seem like she would follow orders from anybody but herself, something about her attitude simply reminded him of quite a few Marines he’d met over the years.
Feet moving quietly, the blonde gave a light hint of a chuckle. “You don’t keep throwing knives for too long but these are my favourites. Never missed a target with’em.“ A somewhat proud smirk lingered on his face as he flicked the knife through his fingers.
As Ellie noticed a trace on the ground and signaled him to stay quiet, he gave a small nod, shifting his feet lightly and pinching his knife’s blade between his fingers, getting it ready for a potential throw. He shuffled his feet quietly, following her every step and keeping an eye open for any movement nearby.
Moving swiftly and stealthily, Ellie followed the tracks, noticing that they were still pretty fresh. Hopefully, if they were quick enough, then Ellie could possibly bring back a good meal for the rest of her people back at the power plant. It was something she was determined to do; she wasn’t going to come back empty handed.
Suddenly, the young woman spotted movement not far off in the distance. ’Bingo’, she thought to herself as she spyed a decent-sized deer moving around gracefully. If she could manage to take this back, the camp would not have to worry about going hunting for meat for a while, at least.
Looking over at Steven, Ellie pointed to a tall tree close to where she was planning to attack. ”You stay there.“ The young woman mouthed at him. That way, if he was going to cooperate, if she didn’t get the deer the first time, Steven could take it down with his knife.
Without a moment to spare, Ellie made her way silently over to the nearest tree, her head peaking out from the side to spot the deer with it’s back to her. ‘Perfect’, she thought, before she raised her bow, keeping the arrow drawn.
Squinting her eyes, Ellie took her time; knowing that rushing wouldn’t get her anywhere. When the aim was precise, the woman didn’t waste any time and let go of the arrow, watching it pierce straight through the dees neck, a sharp 'yelp’ coming from the animal before it tried it’s hardest to scamper away.

A half smile tugged at her lips as the male thanked her once more. Alright, maybe this wasn’t as bad as she thought....
He might not have been completely ‘through’ with this whole thing, but he did feel somewhat relieved that she’d try to...
