Explaining to her that he was used to killing 8 to 9 feet tall aliens that defended themselves with plasma rifles and plasma grenades didn’t seem like that much of a good idea. There was no way she’d believe him, she didn’t even exactly believe what he’d already told her.
“…let’s just say… they’re.. bigger.” He gave a light nod at that. Actually, they were an awful lot nastier, too. He wouldn’t managed to take out a brute in a few seconds, as he’d done with two Runners. Those things needed quite a few damn shots more. Then again, they usually wore armour anyway.
“…oh, don’t tell me it gets worse..” Sighing lightly, he shook his head. Yeah, as if he wasn’t already thrilled enough about running around in a world full of.. infected. He’d have to wrap his head around what kinds of enemies he’d be facing, and that’d probably take up quite a bit of his time, he supposed.
Her reply pulled a smirk out of him. Born to be tough, hm? He figured she’d have made a great ODST, simply with that attitude of hers. Steven had come across quite a few soldiers that handled things that way, rather distant and efficient. It made things easier, usually. He’d gotten to the point where he went about everything he did like that as well. Just after the Project had been sacked, things had gone.. difficult. “Uh… don’t hit me, but where exactly are we going anyway?“

Bigger… right. Ellie would like to have seen his face if he were to ever come in contact with a bloater; those things were freaking hard to put down. Luckily, they were weakened with fire, because if they weren’t then, well, the only option left would be to run.
"Yeah, those are just babies compared t'what’s out there. Ya’ got fuckers that are ten feet tall with tentacles fer hands.” She was just fucking around, even if this guy already seemed jumpy; but she might as well put her vivid imagination to some sort of use in this current situation.
When he asked her not to hit her, Ellie turned her head in his direction, eyes narrowing slightly as he continued to speak. ‘None of your damn business,’ she first thought. But of course he would want to know where he was going; anyone who was being taken somewhere by a stranger would. She couldn’t tell him about the other survivors there; not yet, anyway. “Nowhere special. Jus’ somehwere I can keep this safe.” With that, green eyes returned to the ground beneath her, feeling her hands starting to cramp after pulling the carcass. “It ain’t much longer. Just a few minutes.” She spoke, her breathing slightly shallow.
A half smile tugged at her lips as the male thanked her once more. Alright, maybe this wasn’t as bad as she thought....
He might not have been completely ‘through’ with this whole thing, but he did feel somewhat relieved that she’d try to...
