His hands raised as a couple of guards came through the gate, their rifles pointing at him. He quickly scanned them for any protection, armour or something. Nothing, obviously. If it wasn’t for their guns, he’d consider them as much a threat as a fly. They looked sloppy, obviously not very soldier-like. He supposed it was fit enough for their situation.

He heard what she told the woman, he knew how Ellie meant to go about things anyway. He wouldn’t stay long, probably get a good chance to rest a little and then just.. get pushed out of the gate again. Fair enough. That was just what they’d agreed on, after all.

Oooor… he could find whoever was in charge of that place and actually offer to help. That was he would at least get some more time to get used to this.. new world before he was on his own and he’d actually do something useful. These people all looked worn, he was sure enough that help wasn’t something everybody could afford to turn down. Especially not the help of a skilled fighter.

As the guards moved aside, he gave them a light nod, somewhat thankful, and shuffled after Ellie and past the metal doors of the gate. The inside didn’t look any more neat, piles of supplies and whatnot scattered across the yard-like area they’d entered. It still seemed.. organised. Like they’d been doing this for quite some time already and knew how to handle things. “So… you lot kinda live here, hm?“ He asked, walking closely after Ellie and letting his eyes shift around his new surroundings.

Ellie began to walk through the open area so she could get to the small room that she called her own. The powerplant had changed quite a bit over the years. From what used to be an unorganized mess, Tommy had managed to turn this place into a small community, with the help of others, of course.

"Well I got know where else t'go.” She said, walking briskly ahead, ignoring the odd looks from other survivors due to Ellie having complete stranger beside her. At least getting him inside the gates was easier than expected. Perhaps it was because she was a well known and trustworthy member here, and the promise of getting him out before the day was over would be more likely to happen.

After a few minutes of walking, Ellie soon came to a small room. “In ‘ere,” she spoke as she pushed the metal door open with force. The hinges were rusty after all those years being unkept. The room was simple; a single, dusty window along with a matress in the corner of her room to sleep on. A stack of comics and old books were scattered around the area, along with a simple music player beside where she slept. “Voilà.” She stated, holding the door open for him.

Once he was through the door, Ellie shut it closed with both hands before slipping off her quiver and bow, placing it by the door. “I’ll let ya’ get sorted 'ere.” She said, taking off her backpack and setting it next to her bow.

A half smile tugged at her lips as the male thanked her once more. Alright, maybe this wasn’t as bad as she thought....

He might not have been completely ‘through’ with this whole thing, but he did feel somewhat relieved that she’d try to...
