“I can relate to that, yeah..” The people around them gave him strange looks, mind you some didn’t even bother to look at him at all. He immediately felt like he couldn’t make one step without having a pair of eyes on him, something he’d luckily grown used to during his time as a Freelancer agent. Secretive project, they didn’t allow any leaks.

The old, metal door she was aiming for opened with a light creaking noise and he hesitated a brief moment before he entered the room. It wasn’t a huge room and not an extraordinarily nicely decorated one, it almost reminded him of his own quarters, except she had more books lying around than he did.

He immediately grinned at the many comic books and others he saw lying around, looking over to her and chuckling lightly. “Man, that’s awesome! I wish I had this many books, honestly.“ Steven squatted down, picking up one of the comic books and making his way to a wall, simply sitting down on the ground and flipping it open a few pages. A part of him regretted that he hadn’t gotten his hands on some decent comic books when he was younger, but it was hard to find any back where he grew up.

"This is pretty cool, I gotta admit.” The comic book was closed again and he let out a small, somewhat content sigh at the chance to sit down again. He might not have been standing for too long but damn, he felt horribly exhausted. And he felt.. a little guilty? The way people seemed around here, you had to be able to take care of yourself and he’d gotten on her back like some lost little child. And she’d still helped him a bit. “…thanks, by the way. For the uh.. taking me with you.”

Ellie ambled over to her matress, sitting down on the hard material. Half the springs had broken, which made it pretty uncomfortable to sleep on at night with metal poking into her ribs every time she moved.

A small smile tugged at the corner of her lips when began to flick through one of her comics. “Friend helped me find ‘em a long time ago.” Without Joel to help her out, Ellie would not have as many things to read as she did now. “I ain’t got them all, though; an’ they all say to be freakin’ continued. Ya’ don’t know how much I hate cliffhangers, man."

Sighing heavily, Ellie stared at the wall opposite before the male finally spoke up. Glancing over at him, the young woman shrugged lightly. "Didn’t really 'ave another choice.” It was true, every time she tried to leave he wouldn’t let her. A part of Ellie was glad she did decide to take him back, though; he wasn’t as bad as she thought he’d be. “Your welcome, though.” She smiled lightly in his direction, wrapping her arms around her legs.

“So… ya’ think ya’ can send that signal from 'ere?” She asked, not remembering exactly what he had to do. However, now he was out of the forest, Ellie guessed that he would have a better chance of getting in touch with whoever he needed to contact.

A half smile tugged at her lips as the male thanked her once more. Alright, maybe this wasn’t as bad as she thought....

He might not have been completely ‘through’ with this whole thing, but he did feel somewhat relieved that she’d try to...
