He might not have been completely ‘through’ with this whole thing, but he did feel somewhat relieved that she’d try to help him some more. It wouldn’t have been the first time that he’d be thrown into an environment he was utterly unfamiliar with without any friends or something, leave alone family. To be fair, that was hardly new, he’d never gotten to the point of having one anyway.

For now, he should rest. Maybe just try and.. flip through one of those comics, seeing as he’d definitely just doze off if he closed his eyes for even a second. And once he’d drift off, he’d probably fall asleep for a looong time, and that would probably end with Ellie having to hit his head as hard as she could to wake him up again.

“Thanks… again.” He shifted a little on the ground, leaning his head against the wall. Naturally he’d genuinely do as much as he could to try and help them. Maybe it would even be a little better for him than running around as a ‘substitutional soldier’ all the time, hopping from mission to mission and ship to ship, without anything even close to a home.

“…who does run things around here? I mean, you could at least fill me in about the basics, even if I might not stay here. Y’know, kill some time talking.” The blonde gave a small smile, his head tilted lightly out of curiosity. It seemed as though there was quite a bit to know about that place, so learning as much about it as possible would at least give him a vague idea as to where he actually was.

A half smile tugged at her lips as the male thanked her once more. Alright, maybe this wasn’t as bad as she thought. Perhaps she could have someone to get along with who wasn’t ancient like Joel and half the community. Time would only tell, of course, as for all she knew he could be kicked out into the wilderness again by tonight.  It then wouldn’t take him long before he would become Clicker bait, and she would find him ripped apart on one of her next hunting trips.

“…His name’s Tommy. He ain’t bad once ya’ get t’know him.” She answered, thinking about how much she should actually tell him. Ellie doubted that he was some spy, judging by how much he just wanted to get home. However, in a world like this, it was never a good idea to trust someone straight away; even if they did seem like a lost puppy.

“Ya’ know, if ya’ end up bein’ able to stay, I’ll tell you what ya’ need t’know. There ain’t no rule book, but I’ll make sure ya’ fit in.” With that, Ellie briefly glanced around, before setting her hands on the floor to push herself up onto her feet. Once standing, the young woman slid her hands into her front pocket, green eyes on Steven. “Like I said, get some rest. Imma’ talk to the guy in charge.” Turning on her heal, Ellie made her way to the door, pulling it open with some force.

Half way out of the door, Ellie stopped, turning her head to look back at him. “I’ll be back, ok?” She reassured him, her voice slightly quieter than before. With that she then made her way out of the room, closing the door behind her. Next stop: Tommy’s.
